Vinny Mulvey is a resident of Ashbourne, County Meath. Vinny has established himself as a top Physical Therapist in the area over the last 20 years, treating both elite and non-elite athletes, as well as people in the local community.
Vinny has treated over 40 Olympic medallists and world record holders, as well as over 60 international rugby players, from Ireland and abroad.
Vinny has treated athletes from Ireland, UK, USA, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, Ethiopia, Canada, South Africa, Uganda, Jamaica, Spain and Portugal.
As well as being a physical therapist for the first team at Leinster Rugby for 8 seasons, Vinny has also worked with the Australian Rugby Team and New Zealand Rugby Team on trips to Ireland for November Internationals.
Vinny developed a talent for long distance running while he was a pupil in secondary school at Belvedere College, Dublin. After school he took up a running scholarship at Iona College, New Rochelle, New York and competed for the track team, while gaining a MBA in Finance. While at Iona College, Vinny competed all over the United States and was a 2 time All-American at Cross Country and 10km track. After college, Vinny ran full time for Saucony USA, while also competing for the Irish national team at cross country, track, and on the roads.
After 8 years in New York, Vinny returned to Ireland and ran full time for Mizuno, competing domestically for Raheny Shamrock Athletic Club, while also competing for Ireland at 6 World Championships and 5 European Championships. Vinny won 9
National titles over cross country, 10km track, Half Marathon and at the National Road Relays. Vinny also became the 3rd ever Irish person to win the British AAA 10km title in 2006. Vinny’s personal bests include 13.58 for 5km, 28.58 for 10km and 66.02 for Half Marathon, as well as placing 56th twice at the World Cross Country Championships.
After Vinny’s running career ended through injury, he decided to put the same passion he had for competing into helping other sportspeople avoid injury and maximise their potential. Vinny brings a holistic approach to his treatments and understands the physical needs, and more importantly the psychological needs of his patients on the table.
Vinny also teaches his extremely successful running camps in the Dublin and Ashbourne areas all year round. He was the first person to teach such classes in Dublin, and has helped thousands of runners achieve their personal bests.
